However, delays can occur due to required authorizations: a doctor must sign the death certificate, the coroner must issue the cremation permit, and the county clerk must file with the state. On average, families can expect to receive the cremated remains within 3-7 business days, although this timeline can vary depending on the speed of these external processes.
